About the Opportunity
Are you ready to take your career to the next level? Freedom Professional Services is on the lookout for an experienced Clerk of Works to join our dynamic electricity transmission and distribution civil design team. If you have a strong technical background in civil engineering and contract administration, this could be the perfect fit for you!
In this role, you will ensure construction compliance from start to finish on a variety of electricity substations across Yorkshire and the Northeast of England. You’ll collaborate with a talented team of internal professionals and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional results.
Your Key Responsibilities
As a Clerk of Works, you will:
* Ensure all civil construction work meets design specifications, standards, and policies.
* Support design engineers in managing civil engineering elements of projects.
* Utilize site surveys and technical knowledge to guide contractors during construction.
* Assist in preparing and reviewing site construction programs.
* Plan project Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and monitor contractor adherence.
* Conduct Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental Audits.
* Prepare weekly/monthly reports for clients.
* Lead on-site coordination meetings on behalf of the client.
* Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure effective project delivery.

We are seeking a dedicated and forward-thinking Clerk of Works with:
Essential Qualifications:
* Experience as a Clerk of Works in the civil/built environment.
* Strong communication skills with contractors, colleagues, and clients.
* Knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015.
* A technical qualification in Civil Engineering or Building Construction.
* Membership or progress towards registration with the Institute of Clerks of Works.
* Understanding of construction methodologies and risk management.
* CSCS registration in a relevant discipline.
* A full UK driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Ability to manage multiple technical projects simultaneously.
* Vocational training or certificates in construction-related fields.
* Awareness of Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging legislation.
* Knowledge of sustainability practices.
