Process Technician – iO Associates
iO Associates are partnered with a cutting‑edge cleantech company specializing in sustainable materials. We are seeking a dedicated Process Technician (Chemical/Mechanical) to join the research and development team.
Role Summary
As a Process Technician you will support the scale‑up and industrialisation of advanced chemical recycling technology. You will be involved in process development, plant design, and collaborate closely with the R&D team to innovate circular economic material processes.
Responsibilities
* Support the scale‑up of technology from laboratory to pilot plant
* Assist in developing prototypes and testing new processes
* Operate and monitor chemical processing units
* Conduct regular inspections and record process data
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
* Support mechanical process modifications
* Prepare samples for testing
* Create documentation including SOPs and training manuals
* Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols
Qualifications
* A‑levels or BTEC in the sciences with minimum 5 years of experience OR HNC/HND in Chemical/Process Engineering with minimum 3 years of industrial experience
* Industry experience in process optimisation
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Excellent verbal and written English
* Passion for sustainability and circularity in technology
* Located in or willing to relocate to the Bristol area
* Ability to work in fast‑paced environments
* Experience in advanced materials or composites
* Health and safety training (IOSH/NEBOSH)
* Knowledge in polymer chemistry and chemical recycling technologies
* Background in pressurised systems
* Degree qualified in Engineering
