Roadside Patrol Technician You’re there when people need help the most. Diagnosing and repairing vehicles at the roadside Working independently in a fast‑paced, reactive environment Every day is different - from batteries and tyres to complex fault‑finding You start and finish your day from home, in a fully equipped RAC van Mobile Vehicle Technician (SMR) You focus on planned, high‑quality repair and servicing. Pre‑booked appointments at members’ homes or workplaces Structured schedules with time to do the job properly No emergency call‑outs or roadside recovery In‑depth servicing, diagnostics and repairs you’d usually see in a workshop Both Patrol and SMR roles are technical positions, so you’ll need: A Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent) A full UK driving licence A customer‑focused approach and confidence working independently You don’t need to choose before attending - we’ll help you work out which role fits your experience, preferences and strengths.
