Role Summary
1. Provide a professional, efficient, and effective Reception service to patients and visitors attending the Emergency Department, in accordance with Trust policies on confidentiality and customer care.
2. Ensure patient details are accurately recorded and relevant documentation is created to support safe patient care.
3. Support the patient journey through general clerical duties with minimal delay.
4. Create a positive first impression of the Trust/Department to patients and visitors.

We seek a professional and reliable individual to provide an efficient Reception service to ED patients and visitors. The post holder must handle confidentiality sensitively, record patient details accurately, and support safe patient care. This role is vital in creating a positive first impression of the Trust/Department.
The Emergency Department handles approximately 105,000 attendances annually and benefits from an innovative IT system. The role suits someone with excellent interpersonal skills, a proactive attitude, and a desire for a challenge.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, remain calm under pressure, and have experience dealing with the public and distressed individuals. Flexibility, experience in busy environments, and the ability to work independently are essential.
Working Pattern: 16 hours/week over a 3-week rolling rota:
* Week 1: Wed 16:00-21:00, Sat 09:00-16:00, Sun 16:00-21:00
* Week 2: Mon 16:00-21:00, Wed 16:00-21:00, Fri 16:00-21:00
* Week 3: Tue 16:00-21:00, Sat 16:00-21:00, Sun 09:00-16:00
