The
Senior Electronic Engineer
will be part of a team providing services supporting analogue, digital (FPGA), and computer-based safety systems. The team covers requirements, design, and maintenance of systems and products. The work emphasizes robust classical analysis and modeling of analogue instrumentation front-ends.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out all work ethically, safely, and in accordance with relevant standards and best practices within the nuclear industry.
Provide technical leadership in specified areas for the team and the company.
Establish customer solutions and support discussions to agree on outcomes considering cost, timescale, and implementation ease.
Peer review technical reports, drawings, and designs for safety, functionality, and compliance.
Analyze existing systems to determine requirements for replacement or refurbishment.
Support project managers and team leaders with technical expertise.
Coordinate with suppliers regarding third-party equipment supply and support.
Support installation and commissioning of equipment on-site as needed.
Develop personal engineering capabilities in safety systems and instrumentation.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and modernization.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
Degree in Electronics Engineering or industry experience in electronics design, including schematic design, PCB layout, and mixed-mode simulation (e.g., Altium).
Strong understanding and practical experience in analogue electronics design, including noise, frequency response, cabling, and temperature effects.
Knowledge of major digital electronics families and device categories.
Experience in systems engineering of complete electronic systems, including integration and thermal/reliability considerations.
Proficiency with modern instrumentation such as digital oscilloscopes and programmable instruments.
Experience managing team workloads.
Knowledge of formal systems engineering tools like DOORS is advantageous.
Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
