Vision for Education is seeking caring, resilient, and enthusiastic ALN Teaching Assistants to work across specialist schools and educational settings in Chepstow and the surrounding Monmouthshire area.

As an ALN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, develop independence, and achieve positive educational outcomes within a supportive and inclusive environment.

The Role
As an ALN Teaching Assistant, you may support pupils with a range of Additional Learning Needs and Special Educational Needs, including:
17. ALN – Additional Learning Needs
18. ASC – Autism Spectrum Condition
19. SEMH – Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs
20. MLD – Moderate Learning Difficulties
21. SLD – Severe Learning Difficulties
22. PMLD – Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties
23. Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
24. Behavioural and Emotional Support Needs
Your responsibilities may include:
25. Providing one-to-one support for pupils with ALN
26. Delivering small-group interventions and targeted learning support
27. Assisting teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery
28. Adapting learning materials to meet individual pupil requirements
29. Supporting emotional wellbeing, communication, and social development
30. Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence, and independence
31. Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
32. Supporting behaviour management strategies within the classroom
33. Assisting with personal care where required
34. Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

47. The ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations
48. A commitment to helping pupils achieve their individual goals
49. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualifications, or relevant experience (desirable but not essential)
