Your role: A great opportunity to join our Residential staff, in our OFSTED Outstanding LD Short break Children s home. You will have full access to a comprehensive induction and training programme. You will be working alongside a well-established staff team and have access to a comprehensive training offer. You will support children ages 4-18 with learning disabilities to enjoy their stay at BASE, develop new skills and understanding how they experience the world. You will support the team to capture progress and work together to meet the children s sensory, communication and behavioural needs. You will support children to experience new activities both in the home and in the local community. About you: You will have experience of working with children with profound learning difficulties, autism, communication, sensory and behavioural difficulties. You will have good communication skills and be able to work independently and as a team member. You will need to be passionate. You will need to be caring, patient, and resilient. You will have experience of working or supporting children with severe learning difficulties. It would be desirable to have worked within children residential homes. You will have good communication both verbally and written, the ability to interact with children with a wide range of disabilities and a passion to enable them to succeed. BASE is a unique Residential Short break home supporting children ages 4 to 18 who have a diagnosed disability and significant learning need who are edge of care. We offer children regular planned short break or for some children to live part of the week at BASE whilst enabling them to remain at home the rest of the week. We work closely with home, school, health and any other service who is involved with the child to ensure the child s needs are met in all environments.
