Overview
Texas Oncology is looking for a Research Assistant to join our team! This position will support the Longview location. It is a full-time Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm position with no weekends, call, or major holidays. The position will be either Level 1 or Sr based on candidate experience.

What does the Research Assistant do? (Including but not limited to)
Under supervision, maintains accurate logs of patients referred for clinical research, collects data from initial contact through therapy and follow-up, performs clerical and data management duties, and may assist with patient care, laboratory services, and supply maintenance related to clinical research. Supports adherence to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities
* Maintains organized patient data files for easy retrieval.
* Collects patient data throughout treatment and follow-up.
* Assists with scheduling consultations, tests, procedures, and appointments.
* Prepares patient records for audits.
* Maintains supplies, drugs, and storage for clinical research.
* Enters relevant data into the computer system as per guidelines.
* Assists physicians and nurses with patient care and specimen collection for research.
Qualifications
Level 1
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* 1-year medical office experience, oncology experience preferred.
Level Sr (in addition to Level 1 requirements)
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Three years of medical office experience preferred.
* Oncology experience preferred.
Physical Demands
Prolonged sitting, bending, stooping, stretching, eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity, and occasional lifting up to 30 pounds are required. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for disabilities.
