More hours are available if interested and can be discussed at interview. Personal Assistant required for a non verbal 43 year old gentleman (J) with Down Syndrome. J lives at home with his parents in Hanham. You will be required to work alongside another PA already in employment. Main Duties - Personal Care. - Administering medication and support attending medical appointments. - Household tasks: some meal preparation, light cleaning, tidying, ironing and laundry. - J enjoys swimming and has a membership at David Lloyd's. J attends a drama therapy session once a week and like to go out for food and drinks. J also has an annual membership for Wake the Tiger and Slimbridge. About You - You will have good communication skills and will be able to understand non verbal prompts. J is very good at communicating his needs. - Be patient, understanding and empathetic. - Honest, reliable and punctual. - Comfortable around dogs. - A driving licence is essential as you will be required to drive J's car. This is an employed role and attracts the normal statutory rights attached.
