We have a great opportunity for a Business Development Director within our Energy Solutions business at Equans to continue our drive to grow this crucial part of our business. Energy Solutions deliver and manage renewable infrastructure projects that help businesses and local authorities meet their energy resilience and net zero goals. From utility-scale solar farms and battery energy storage systems (BESS), rooftop PV, grid-scale storage to smart microgrid solutions, we provide fully integrated, renewable energy solutions.

Key Activities:
The BD Director will be responsible for generating the leads and must keep a heathy pipeline of opportunities. The aim is to have a balanced portfolio of customers across different markets (solar, BESS, decarbonisation and microgrid) with both private and public clients. Priority must be given to direct end users. The successful candidate will also work in collaboration to colleagues leading our activities in other sectors such as hydrogen, decarbonisation of existing assets thought our Carbon Shift offer and O&M.
* Responsible for successful engagements with customers and would manage successfully both exclusive collaborations with customers and open tenders involving competitors from both the UK and overseas
* Will need to collaborate effectively with others within the Energy Team and Equans UK&I to guarantee a reliable reporting of the performance
* Must be innovative and capable of generating new ideas and ways of thinking that have the potential to transform the business
* Will be our representative for liaising with the Marketing and Communication team of Equans UK and also with group. The successful candidate would need to be able to contribute actively and to share information/produce content for both internal and external communications. Excellent communication skills are required.
* The BD Director plays a key role in influencing the markets we are operating in and needs to anticipate future trends so we adapt early and quickly. Among recent examples, this includes:
o Give priority to exclusive agreements with end customers to develop their projects and sign EPC contracts once risks have been mitigated and properly governed internally;
o Participate to contract negotiations in order to reach agreements which maximize cash, profit, resources usage and recognition of revenue
o Minimize costs for any external bid support
* Solid BD background in solar and storage with a successful track record in either EPC, ICP or OEM activities
* Large utility scale solar farms (>50MWp);
* BESS projects (stand alone, AC or DC coupling as well);
* Microgrid projects (solar carport, EV chargers, BESS)
* Key components such as solar panels, inverters, BESS, HV equipment, mounting structure and SCADA
