We’re working with a warm and inclusive school in South Shields who are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils who need a little extra guidance to feel confident, settled and ready to learn.

Role overview
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work closely with class teachers to support pupils across the classroom, as well as delivering targeted interventions. You’ll play a key role in helping children develop academically, socially and emotionally.
Your presence will help create a calm, structured and engaging learning environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed.
Key responsibilities
Support pupils across KS1 and KS2 within the classroom
Deliver small group interventions in literacy and numeracy
Provide additional support to pupils with SEN and varying needs
Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning
Adapt support strategies to suit individual pupils
Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
Build strong and supportive relationships with pupils
Requirements
Experience working with children or young people (school-based or similar)
A positive, patient and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting children’s development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
