An established and growing main contractor based in Hythe, Kent is seeking an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its build division. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded QS looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and forward-thinking construction business.
The role will focus on build projects across a varied portfolio.
The Role:
Managing projects from pre-construction through to final account
Preparing and reviewing cost plans, budgets, and forecasts
Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
Managing subcontractor packages, valuations, and variations
Preparing interim valuations and final accounts
Monitoring project costs and reporting on commercial performance
Supporting with contract administration and risk management
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience working as an Assistant or Trainee Quantity Surveyor within the build sector
Ideally 3+ years' experience in a similar role
Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial processes
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
