About the Role
We are looking for a practical, organised and safety-conscious technician who can support teachers and students across a range of D&T specialisms, including Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics, Textiles and/or Food Technology.
This role is essential in ensuring the smooth and safe running of our workshops, preparing materials for lessons, maintaining equipment, and helping students bring their design ideas to life.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare tools, equipment and resources for practical lessons
* Support teachers during demonstrations and practical activities
* Maintain machinery, tools and workshop spaces to required safety standards
* Assist in monitoring and maintaining stock levels and ordering supplies
* Provide technical support for CAD/CAM equipment (e.g., 3D printers, laser cutters)
* Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs
* Support students during practical work, prototypes and project tasks
* Ensure compliance with all relevant health & safety policies
What we are looking for:
* Practical experience using workshop tools, machinery or materials
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Willingness to follow and promote health & safety procedures
* A proactive, flexible and positive approach
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Experience in a school or educational environment
* Knowledge of CAD/CAM systems
* Woodwork, engineering or technical background

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
