Working out of the Iver depot and in the field, you will lead and optimise the operations of our Treatment and Logistics division. This role is essential in ensuring smooth logistics operations, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement to meet business objectives. As the Head of Treatment and Logistics, you will have a strong background in operational management, supply chain, and logistics, with a proven ability to enhance efficiency, develop teams and implement best practices. This leadership role requires excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic planning skills, along with a proactive approach to driving business growth and operational excellence. Position: Head of Treatment and Logistics Location: based out of Iver Depot (Colnbrook, Berkshire), plus travel around our network covering Greater London, Thames Valley and Home Counties North and South Job Type: Permanent, full-time Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, plus Senior Leadership Team on-call rota Salary: Competitive, depending upon experience (plus car allowance or company car) Benefits: 24 days holiday (plus bank holidays); health cash plan; onsite parking; auto enrolment pension scheme; friendly working environment. About the Role: Due to continued growth and development, we are now looking for a proactive and strategic individual to join us on our Logistics Management Contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to treatment and waste management. Strategic Leadership & Operational Management Oversee and manage the daily operations of the treatment and logistics division, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve operational efficiency, streamline processes, and enhance service delivery. Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement. Ensure optimal utilisation of resources, including staff, equipment, and materials, to maximise productivity and cost-effectiveness. Accountable for commercial management with a strong focus on profit and loss, ensuring delivery against budgets and financial targets Performance Management & Continuous Improvement Analyse division performance metrics, identify key areas for improvement, and develop action plans to enhance operational effectiveness. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and proactive problem-solving within the team. Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress, measure logistics efficiency, and optimise workflow processes. Lead initiatives related to cost reduction, waste management, and sustainability in logistics and treatment operations. Team Leadership & Workforce Optimisation Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team by providing guidance, training, and career development opportunities. Manage workforce planning, including scheduling, workload allocation, and resource adjustments, to maintain efficiency and meet operational demands. Create a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and professional growth. Compliance, Safety & Risk Management Ensure full compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and health & safety standards. Identify potential risks, implement risk mitigation strategies, and enforce workplace safety procedures. Act as the escalation point for critical operational challenges, ensuring swift resolution while maintaining business continuity. Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them. Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration Work closely with internal departments, including HR, finance, and procurement, to align logistics strategies with business objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth supply chain operations and compliance. Represent the treatment and logistics division in executive meetings, reporting on performance, challenges, and strategic initiatives. About You: The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, negotiation, relationship building, networking skills and communication is crucial to the role as is having a professional demeanour to engage with all stakeholders, being data and results-driven with a strategic approach to decision-making. A strong eye for budgeting and forecasting with operational expertise is vital. People management and Senior Leadership experience is crucial, including the management of and building teams. Being proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and strong attention to detail is imperative. Adaptability, flexibility and resilience is key.
