Your purpose will be:
To ensure all public spaces throughout Fairmont Cheshire The Mere are presented with flawless cleanliness, elegance, and attention to detail. The Public Area Attendant plays a vital role in creating a serene, polished, and welcoming atmosphere from the moment guests enter the hotel. Through consistency, pride, and a commitment to luxury standards, this role enhances the guest experience across all front‑of‑house areas.
Job Description
1. Maintain exceptional cleanliness and presentation across all public areas, including lobbies, corridors, lounges, restrooms, spa areas, and event spaces
2. Ensure all guest‑facing spaces reflect Fairmont’s luxury standards, including furniture arrangement, lighting checks, and scent control
3. Replenish amenities such as towels, toiletries, and guest supplies in public restrooms and spa areas
4. Respond promptly to guest requests, offering warm, professional, and anticipatory service
5. Support VIP arrivals and events, ensuring public spaces are immaculate and guest‑ready
6. Report maintenance issues immediately, ensuring all public areas remain in perfect condition
7. Assist with deep‑cleaning schedules, including carpets, marble, glass, and high‑touch surfaces
8. Maintain cleaning equipment and storage areas in a tidy, organised, and fully stocked state
9. Follow all cleaning procedures, including brand standards and hygiene protocols
10. Collaborate with Housekeeping, Front Office, Spa, and Engineering teams to support seamless operations
11. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including COSHH and manual handling
12. Support lost‑and‑found procedures with accuracy and confidentiality
13. Uphold Fairmont grooming, communication, and service standards at all times
14. Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team‑focused working environment

Qualifications
15. 1 year of experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or public area roles, ideally within a luxury hotel
16. Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining exceptional standards
17. Understanding of cleaning procedures, hygiene standards, and public area presentation
18. Knowledge of UK health & safety regulations, including COSHH (training can be provided)
19. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
20. Good time‑management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
21. Professional, courteous, and guest‑focused attitude
22. Physical ability to meet the demands of the role, including manual handling
23. A passion for luxury hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
