We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook/Chef to join our culinary team at La Cueva De La Llorona, a unique and immersive Mexican dining experience in Carlisle. Our focus is on delivering authentic Mexican cuisine that delights and surprises our guests. Key Responsibilities:
* Menu Execution: Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Mexican dishes, ensuring that each plate reflects the high standards and vibrant flavours of our menu.
* Recipe Adherence: Follow established recipes and presentation guidelines to maintain consistency and quality across all dishes.
* Kitchen Management: Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
* Ingredient Quality: Select and source fresh, high-quality ingredients, paying special attention to authenticity and flavour.
* Food Safety: Adhere to all food safety regulations and hygiene standards, ensuring that the kitchen meets the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
* Inventory Control: Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste.
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen.
Qualifications:
* Experience: Proven experience as a cook or chef, preferably with a focus on Mexican cuisine or a strong interest in exploring Mexican culinary traditions.
* Culinary Skills: Expertise in various cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.
* Food Safety Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of food safety practices, kitchen hygiene, and health regulations.
* Time Management: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities with precision.
* Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new recipes, techniques, and kitchen systems as needed.
* Passion for Mexican Cuisine: A deep appreciation for the flavours and culture of Mexico, with a desire to share that passion through your culinary creations.
* Team Player: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative attitude towards working with kitchen staff and front-of-house team members.
