I'm looking for someone to take care of my 13 year old jackadoodle called Vegas, whilst my mum and i are on holiday May 7th to May 22nd for home boarding. I have written a description of my wee best friend below. .. Personality - He is a big ball of energy and fun wrapped in a small fluffy body (10kg), adores being let out in the garden, playing, kisses and pats and a few walks a day. As long as he is beside you getting attention, patted and played with he is happy. He has had epilepsy since the age of 5 and his daily medication manages it really well, he has not had a fit or episode in years. He gets fed 3 times a day and his medicine (pill) in his morning feed and night feed, daily. He is a human-loving dog but not a dog-loving dog so doesn't mix with other dogs at all (or cats) - we don't take him to dog friendly pubs or cafes etc as he finds this stressful so would ask you not to. Individual care required in a pet free environment needed. He is truly the loveliest wee guy, thinks and acts like a puppy - has a bit of arthritis in his back legs and lower back so we are careful with him (which is hard as he can be bouncy) so as he is a bit of "a jumper" we try to pick him up when getting into car/on couch/bed etc. He is fully insured, vaccinated and everything is up to date. His vet is Glenbrae vets in Dumbarton and they also have their main branch in Baresden. Food - Breakfast 7-8am - 1 x ceser tub with pill mixed in Lunch 1-2pm - handful of dry food Dinner 7-8pm - 1 x ceser tub with pill mixed in (he has to have his pills roughly 12 hours apart, twice a day) Fresh clean water daily Treats - no "dog treats" at all - likes a tea biscuit, cut up cooked cabbage, cut up meats, sliced raw carrot Toilet habits - To keep him stress free about going to the loo we leave a puppy pad out for him to use at all times, which he will use for both number one and two's when he needs to. He relies on pad as a comfort thing - but will pee every time he is out and go for number twos outside if taken out around 20mins after eating. Walks - He has zero road awareness so always kept on a lead at all times when out, unless in a private enclosed space, like a garden. Otherwise he has either: 2 x 30-45min walks a day, or if he hasnt been out in garden much, 3 x 30min walks a day, either is fine. If the weather is very bad/raining he is happy not going out a walk at all, as long as he has playtime indoors. He doesn't love sea/beach walks, prefers grass and country walks and keep him away from other dogs when out. We always dry and clean his paws when he comes in and give him a soft brush daily. Additional info - he is a "hoover" so must have clean floors or he will eat anything and everything - he is not a chewer and wont eat or ruin shoes etc and loves his cuddly toys. He will no doubt have some separation anxiety as he is used to either being with me or mum - but he can be left in house on his own for a few hours/say if you were out for dinner etc no issue and he wont destroy anything. He does not travel well in the car so we avoid this where possible. He is not used to a house full of people, loud music, house parties etc so someone quiet and low-key is essential. Example of a typical day in his life - 7-8am - breakfast with medicine 8am-9am - playing in garden and out for loo or walk 10am-1pm - playing in house or garden, hanging out 1pm-2pm - lunch, garden time 2pm - 7pm - short walk or playing in house or garden, brush of coat, hanging out 7pm-8pm - dinner with medicine and out for loo or walk 9pm onwards - hanging out and bed He has been spoiled and adored for all his life and is the best wee friend Thanks for reading this, I know i went into full detail mode
