A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an engaging, inspirational, passionate and committed Functional Skills maths tutor with elements of Functional Skills English, including Speaking, Listening and Communication to join our supportive Study Programmes team at Prospect Training Services. As a tutor you are at the heart of our delivery, therefore you must possess the ability to motivate students to develop their skills and to reach their full potential. You must have the passion and empathy for working with young people aged 16 – 19 years of age with different abilities, including young people with additional needs. You will use innovative methods to deliver creative, fun and engaging sessions for English and maths, with a focus on supporting the learners to achieve their qualifications. This role includes full teaching responsibilities, including developing your own curriculum against standards, planning and preparing sessions and marking work. You will be part of regular team meetings, and we will provide you with professional development opportunities. Required skills and experience for this FS English and maths tutor role: * L3 (or above) Education and Training teaching qualification * Assessor Qualification (desirable but not essential) * Ability to deliver Functional Skills English and maths, entry level to level 2 and GCSE maths * Excellent delivery skills and proficient classroom management * Excellent communication skills and a good command of the English spoken language * Excellent coordination and organisational skills * Excellent time management * Be Innovative, fast thinking and versatile * Self-motivated, able to work to performance targets and KPIs * Good general level of ICT skills including Microsoft Office And our recruitment process reflects those same values — starting with a relaxed Teams meet-and-greet, followed by a face-to-face visit with our staff and students, and concluding with a short, informal teaching task.
