Rehabilitation Assistant

The Home First Service comprises Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Nurses, Community Mental Health Nurses and Rehabilitation Assistants. The service covers the inpatient rehabilitation wards, urgent community response, virtual ward service, unplanned physiotherapy, occupational therapy, enhanced care home team and reablement.
The Rehabilitation Assistant will support qualified professionals and contribute to the assessment, implementation and delivery of care within the inpatient rehabilitation wards.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* English and Maths at level 2 or equivalent (GCSE 9-4 or A*- C or functional skills level 2)
* NVQ Level 2 in a related subject
* Evidence of learning from reflection
* Basic internet and technology skills
* NVQ - level 3
Experience
* Have previously worked with people.
* Have worked within a Multidisciplinary team.
* Worked within a UK Health/Social care setting
* Have knowledge around basic assessment skills for the reviewing of patients
Knowledge
* Understand importance of maintaining confidentiality
Skills/Abilities/ Knowledge
* Awareness of health and safety issues.
* Ability to deal with unexpected situations
* The ability and willingness to learn new skills
* Demonstrate organisational and time management skills.
* Good written, spoken and nonverbal communication skills
* Have an understanding of the delivery and current issues within the NHS
* Have an understanding of the role of the Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist and a General Nurse.
* Have knowledge around the Home First model
* Experience working as a band 2 or 3

* Confident to work with others and understand team dynamics
* To have a positive, professional approach
* Able to work effectively without constant supervision and as part of a team.
* Sensitive manner to be able to treat patients with dignity and respect
* Able to perform practical tasks effectively
