What will you be responsible for?
As Building Services Manager, you will work within our Mechanical, Electrical, and Technology team, leading the design and implementation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems in buildings and structures. You will ensure compliance with regulatory standards, project requirements, and client expectations, demonstrating technical expertise, project management, and leadership skills, with a strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and sustainable design principles.
Your daily responsibilities include:
* Leading the design process for building services, providing in-depth knowledge of MEP systems, their integration, and performance within the building, while planning, organizing, and overseeing project execution to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
* Managing and mentoring engineers, designers, and other professionals, and liaising with clients, architects, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
* Ensuring all designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, industry standards, and Kier Design standards, while promoting sustainable design solutions.
* Identifying and resolving technical and logistical challenges during design and construction phases.
* Providing strategic direction to grow the team, establish collaborative work-winning relationships, and maintain high staff utilization.
What are we looking for?
This role is ideal if:
* You are a Chartered Engineer, member of CIBSE or IET, with a Degree in Mechanical Building Services or Electrical Engineering.
* You have significant experience demonstrating your ability to fulfill the role's responsibilities, with high-level knowledge of your discipline and experience with industry-standard design software such as Cymap, Amtech, NBS, AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and PowerBI for process optimization.
* You can demonstrate managing and leading a multi-discipline technical team, with a proven track record of achieving sustainable performance against challenging targets.
