Senior General Foreman
VolkerStevin, part of the VolkerWessels UK Group, invites applications for a Senior General Foreman to join a long‑term framework based in Plymouth.
About the Role
As a Senior General Foreman you will lead on‑site teams, coordinate subcontractors and deliver projects to the highest standards of quality, safety and performance.
Key Accountabilities
The Senior General Foreman ensures compliance with VolkerStevin Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems, promotes a Behavioural Safety culture and oversees the delivery of self‑delivery and supply chain.
* Ensure compliance with all processes, procedures and legislation.
* Manage third‑party interfaces in conjunction with the Customer and Third Party Team.
* Run the site following the site management plan.
* Supervise and coordinate direct labour and specialist sub‑contracters, meeting contract targets and deadlines.
* Enforce safe working practices as outlined in method statements and risk assessments.
* Provide project information to satisfy client and internal reporting requirements.
* Plan resources, adhere to short‑medium‑term programme and control cost.
* Deliver commercial information to project management and commercial teams to meet NEC contract documentation requirements.
What We're Looking For
* Minimum 10 + years in a supervisory role.
* Strong background in civil engineering and site operations.
* Excellent leadership, communication, organisational and proactive skills.
* Strong focus on health, safety and environmental standards.
* CSCS Site Manager, SMSTS, First Aid qualifications.
* Desirable: Confined Spaces, Temporary Works Appreciation, Lifting Appointed Person.
Key Requirement
Due to the nature of the works, this position requires security clearance. Applicants must be UK nationals to be considered.
