Dynamics AX Architect –
6-Month Contract | Kingston, London| Competitive Day Rate
A leading organisation undergoing a major transformation of its core business systems is looking for an experienced Dynamics AX Architect to support the decommissioning of its existing AX environment and the transition to Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
The Role
You will take a lead position in shaping the technical approach, overseeing the decommissioning strategy, and ensuring a smooth, well-structured transition from AX to D365 F&O. This is a hands-on architectural role that involves working closely with internal teams, business stakeholders and external partners to ensure continuity and minimal disruption to operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the decommissioning of the current Dynamics AX platform
* Architect end-to-end solutions aligned with the migration to D365 F&O
* Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable designs
* Oversee data extraction, mapping, migration planning and validation
* Assess integration points, dependencies and customisations across AX
* Provide technical governance across all migration workstreams
* Define and document architectural standards and best practices
* Support issue resolution, troubleshooting and performance optimisation during transition
Skills & Experience
* Strong experience as a Dynamics AX Architect (AX 2012 advantageous)
* Proven background in AX decommissioning and migration to D365 F&O
* Solid understanding of D365 F&O architecture, modules and integrations
* Strong experience with data migration methodologies and tools
* Experience in retail or fashion environments is beneficial
* Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to bridge tech and business discussions
* Strong documentation skills and a structured approach

* Length: 6 months (potential extension)
* Location: Kingston, London – 3 days onsite
* Engagement: Day rate contract
* Start: ASAP
