The people we support may have spent an extended period in hospital or another setting, therefore we utilise a person-centred approach; empowering individuals to become as independent as possible within their own homes About the Role Team Manager - Mental Health Accommodation Service This is an exciting new opportunity to be part of a service supporting clients presenting with various needs including mental health issues, learning disabilities and neurodiversity. This accommodation service has 8 self-contained units and a separate office in one of Brighton’s most desirable areas. Support will be offered over 24 hours and staffing will include a sleep-in component. Team Leaders are currently exempt from on-rota sleep ins, but may be required to step into this role in the event of sickness/absence Job Opportunity You will be working with a highly skilled team led by experienced senior management and clinical team including a Psychologist and Behaviour Analyst. You will lead the day to day operation of the site and be involved in the training and development of your team as well as supporting new referrals and assessments into the service. Able to muti-task with a positive leadership style you will have the opportunity to develop the Venture People ethos of “therapeutic optimism” within the service. You will be skilled in rapport building and happy to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Key Duties To facilitate the delivery of a service which follows a person-centred ethos and promotes independence Management and planning of staff rotas Staff supervision & management including 121s and absence management Independently manage service on a day-to-day basis Production of reports on operational and KPI performance for leadership To complete dynamic risk assessments and provide support to individuals, to maximize wellbeing and appropriately manage risk. Participation within the Duty Management Roster. To follow national guidelines in all aspects of operation, including adherence to policies and procedures, code of conduct and the facilitation of inspection and improvement. To work flexibly as required by the service; this may require some working outside of your normal hours to provide consistent support in the event of staff sickness or to facilitate staff training/supervision. Monthly workshops with our Clinical Team as well as access to our library of previous sessions Essential Skills Skills & Experience Mental Health experience – ideally within a supported living environment Previous experience within a leadership/management role Pro-active approach Able to work under pressure and maintain calm during stressful situations Able to lead and provide guidance on incident responses, both in service and via duty phone. Risk management assessments and plans Liaising with an MDT and external partners Able to manage multiple competing priorities calmly and efficiently Computer literate, with confidence in using all Microsoft office programmes. Ability to positively address and challenge inappropriate or negative behaviours and attitudes. Experience of using therapeutic de-escalation and/or crisis intervention techniques.
