About the role

Working with the Six GP team at Trescobeas Surgery, we serve a patient list of approximately 10,700. You will join as a GP committed to partnership, delivering six sessions per week and contributing to the practice’s strategic goals and academic activities.
Main responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive medical services, including chronic disease management, family planning, minor surgery and joint injections.
* Offer clinical assessment, prescribing (adhering to local and national guidance), and management of long‑term conditions.
* Conduct home visits, duty rotations, prescription reviews, and telephone triage.
* Engage in clinical meetings, quality improvement initiatives and evidence‑based practice.
* Join multidisciplinary teams: practice nurses, paramedics, pharmacists, physiotherapists, social prescribers and the mental‑health hub to deliver joined‑up care.
* Maintain accurate clinical records and complete audits, appraisal and revalidation processes.
* Support training and mentorship for undergraduate and GP trainees within the practice.
* Contribute to financial management, commissioning discussions and practice governance.
* Take on leadership roles in partnership meetings, QOF work, and special interest projects as needed.
Qualifications & training
* Qualified GP (MRCGP or equivalent).
* Vocational Training Certificate or JCPT GP (CCT).
Clinical knowledge & skills
* Excellent evidence‑based, patient‑centred care at partnership level.
* Strong clinical systems proficiency – SystmOne and MS Office.
* Robust communication and record‑keeping skills.
* Knowledge of local public health issues, health promotion and QOF.
* Experience or willingness to manage medicines and undertake pharmacology reviews.
Other requirements
* Flexibility to work outside core office hours, including nights and weekends.
* Occupational Health clearance.
* Evidence of CPD and current validation/appraisal.
* Own transport and ability to travel locally.
* Project leadership experience with PCN, CQC, NHS Improvement or equivalent.
Experience
* Minimum two years as a salaried GP or graduate GP partner.
* Experience in a primary care setting and with the NHS primary care contract.
* Strong grasp of QOF, enhanced services and clinical governance.
* Full GMC registration and valid DBS confirmation.
