Ridge and Partners are inviting a talented Graduate Building Surveyor to join the Building Surveying team in Cambridge.

What you’ll Do / Responsibilities
* Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) surveys
* Pre-acquisition Building Surveys
* Design and Contract Administration
* Schedules of Condition
* Schedules of Dilapidations
* Reinstatement Cost Assessments
* Collaborate with an impressive client base, including major retailers, local authorities, museums, universities and colleges
What you need to do to be effective in this role
* Support the team on contract administration instructions through attendance at meetings, writing specifications, procurement of competitive tenders, preparation of contract documents and progress inspections
* Assist with building surveys, recording information from site inspections and summarising findings concisely
* Support the Building Surveying team on complex multi-disciplinary schemes
* Help analyse and report on building defects
* Support preparing schedules of dilapidations and negotiation of settlements
* Assist with supervision of building work on site
* Provide advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair and refurbishment of residential and commercial property
* Carry out building, condition and measured surveys
The skills and experience you need to have for this role
* Bachelor’s degree at 2:2 or above - RICS approved
* Right to Work in the UK, without visa sponsorship
* Passion for the industry and belief in the important role of the built environment
* Curious and eager to learn; ability to learn from experienced Building Surveyors
As a graduate, you will need to demonstrate the desire and drive to become a Chartered Building Surveyor with our support and guidance. You will need to be personable, presentable and have good communication skills in this client-facing role. An ability to produce documentation to our standards and to organise and manage time efficiently across multiple projects is essential.
