Job Description:
City-based, global Investment & Trading company is looking to hire a graduate Business Analyst to join their growing London operations.
The Business Analyst will join the London OCTG (Oil Country Tubular Goods) Department, part of the Steel Business Unit. The department focuses on supplying tubular steel products to the energy industry, with projects across Europe and Africa, including UK, Norway, Denmark, Senegal, and Azerbaijan. The OCTG business operates across a wide geographical area and energy fields from O&G to Geothermal. The business is also developing a sustainable and digital supply chain management offering for its customers.
Main responsibilities include:
1. Supporting development and execution of global framework agreements with key energy customers.
2. Resolving contract and business issues, communicating with the customer Global Category Manager.
3. Promoting the Supply Chain Management (SCM) business model among customer operating units.
4. Preparing for and supporting global price negotiations and strategic meetings with clients and steel mills.
5. Supporting the delivery of global contract strategies to regional offices.
6. Identifying new ways to add value to the customer outside of OCTG sales, such as digitalisation, standardisation, and sustainability.
7. Supporting business development through Energy Transition collaborations.
8. Assisting in budget preparation and reporting processes.
9. Supporting OCTG sales activities, including tendering, price offers, and contract negotiations.
10. Ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulations.
Ideal candidates should have:
1. A degree in business or a technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
2. Experience working directly in the energy industry (Oil and Gas).
3. Understanding of procurement and logistics.
4. Experience in international business.
5. Knowledge of QAQC, HSSE, Risk Management, and legal considerations.
6. Attention to detail for effective contract and order management.
7. Effective communication and negotiation skills with customers and suppliers.
8. Adaptability and willingness to take on diverse tasks.
9. Back-office knowledge of SAP, Excel, Word, and basic accounting transactions.
