Role Overview
We are currently seeking a committed and inspiring Science Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Bradford from September 2025. Whether your specialism is Biology, Chemistry, or Physics, you’ll join a supportive department with the resources and leadership to help you thrive.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and rigorous Science lessons across Key Stages 3–5.
* Encourage inquiry, experimentation, and scientific thinking in all students.
* Use data and assessment to drive progress and tailor learning.
* Create a safe and stimulating classroom environment for practical and theoretical work.
* Contribute to departmental planning, assessment strategies, and curriculum development.
* Support extracurricular opportunities such as science clubs, competitions, or trips.
* Maintain high standards in behaviour, safeguarding, and inclusive practice.
Person Specification
Essential:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Degree in a Science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or related field)
* Experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting
* Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach at least one science to GCSE level
* A passion for science education and helping students succeed
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Reflective, growth-minded, and collaborative
Desirable:
* Ability to teach a science subject at A-level
* Experience teaching in UK state schools
* Willingness to lead STEM activities or school science initiatives
* Familiarity with UK exam boards and current curriculum developments
