Healthcare Support Worker Theatre (Ref: 243822)
Position: Substantive, Full Time 36 hours per week
Band: 3 – Salary Range £29,103 - £31,409 per annum
Distant Island Allowance: £2,578 per annum
Responsibilities
* Assist and support the smooth running of the peri‑operative service as part of the multi‑disciplinary theatre team.
* Participate in the care of patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures, including endoscopy.
* Operate, clean and maintain theatre equipment.
* Work independently at times, planning and prioritising workload.
* Maintain accurate documentation using computers as required.
* Adhere to infection control procedures; prior theatre experience is desirable.
* Accept on‑call commitments as necessary.
Qualifications & Experience
* Motivated, hardworking, reliable and able to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced, changeable theatre environment.
* Good interpersonal and team‑working skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise workload.
* Computer literacy and experience completing documentation.
* Desirable: Previous theatre practice and knowledge of infection control procedures.
* Must be willing to undertake an on‑call commitment.
* Competency‑based learning programme will be provided as part of induction and training for the post.
Preferred candidates will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update prior to a formal offer of employment being made.
