We’re recruiting a Bid Writer to join a dynamic, collaborative team within a leading provider of turnkey decarbonisation and energy solutions. This hybrid role (3 days in the Manchester office) offers up to £60,000 depending on experience, plus genuine scope for career progression in a high-growth environment.
Our client is a major player in the energy transition space, delivering innovative heating and renewable solutions to large-scale public and private sector clients. With a national footprint and a strong reputation for reducing operational costs and improving energy resilience, they work across commercial, industrial, leisure, and agricultural sectors.
The Role
You’ll be central to the bid writing function, crafting high-quality PQQs, ITTs, and sales proposals that win work and build trust. You’ll collaborate across departments, distilling complex M&E and sustainability concepts into clear, engaging responses that resonate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
This is a fast-paced, varied role suited to someone who thrives on ownership, iteration, and impact. You’ll be supported to grow into full end-to-end bid management, including portal coordination and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
* Write and design compelling proposal content, ensuring consistency of tone, brand, and messaging
* Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored, high-scoring submissions
* Translate technical input into persuasive, accessible narratives
* Create case studies and gather supporting evidence for bids
* Maintain the bid library and pipeline, using CRM insights to inform strategy
* Support negotiated proposals and contribute to sales enablement
* Drive continuous improvement through feedback and iterative learning
* Coordinate bid activity with internal and external stakeholders
What they are looking for
* Proven experience in bid writing, ideally within M&E or renewable energy sectors
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple deadlines
* A proactive, collaborative mindset with a drive for excellence
* Knowledge of sustainability or energy sectors is a plus, but not essential
