Are you a strategic, hands-on PPM Maintenance Manager who has built PPM systems from scratch and can demonstrate their previous achievements in reducing downtime, cost saving and making maintenance improvements through your PPM implementations and strategies?
We're looking to hire a PPM Maintenance Manager to lead engineering operations and preventative maintenance strategies across 7 UK cold distribution centres, improving uptime, reducing breakdowns, and delivering measurable cost savings.
You’ll be expected to own the PPM process end-to-end – from system design and asset logging to team training, reporting, and demonstrating ROI.

Your Core Responsibilities:
Design and implement a scalable PPM strategy across all sites
Build asset registers and input machines into a live maintenance system (e.g. SHIRE, SAP, Pirana, Excel)
Create structured fault, part, and asset codes to track trends and future analysis
Develop job plans/task lists for engineers and ensure accurate maintenance logging
Train engineering teams (mechanical and electrical) on the PPM system
Coordinate and integrate external contractors (e.g., refrigeration) into your maintenance workflows
Standardise processes across locations, ensuring consistent reporting and compliance
Use maintenance KPIs to improve uptime, reduce breakdowns and callouts, and justify investments
Present data-backed improvements in downtime reduction, production flow, and cost savings
What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience building a PPM system from scratch (not inheriting one)
Direct responsibility for asset logging, fault tracking, and code creation
Experience rolling out PPM across multiple sites with varied equipment
Examples of measurable outcomes: reduced downtime, improved MTTR/MTBF, lower maintenance costs
Strong working knowledge of SHIRE, Pirana, SAP, MaintenanceX, or similar CMMS
Confident using data to make decisions and influence senior stakeholders
5+ years managing maintenance/engineering teams in:
Facilities management
Cold-chain logistics
Manufacturing/industrial environments
NVQ Level 3 or above in electrical or mechanical engineering
Full UK driving licence and British passport
