Defence Business Services (DBS) is one of the largest shared service organisations in Europe that provides a wide range of corporate services to over 1.2 million end users, including serving and past military personnel, families, MoD civil servants, and industry. Job Description
Key responsibilities include:
* Line management, training team members on systems, processes, and compliance.
* Engaging with direct reports through regular 1:1s to support wellbeing, performance, and development, adhering to HR and MOD procedures.
* Leading, developing, and supporting the team, managing workload, and setting priorities.
* Overseeing collection strategies to reduce aged debt, managing high-value cases, escalating overdue accounts, and resolving disputes.
* Monitoring performance against targets, managing risks, and ensuring timely remedy work.
* Collaborating with UK and foreign commercial partners and other DBS teams to optimize performance and recovery.
* Contributing to debt management strategies and fostering positive customer relationships.
* Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and improve customer experience.
Person Specification
* Enthusiastic, adaptable, efficient, and a strong team player with leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with stakeholders and customers.
* Effective time management, capable of working independently and managing competing priorities.
* Motivational, customer service-oriented, and proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable Experience
* Experience managing teams.
* Experience in debt management and actively pursuing debt recovery.
* Familiarity with Oracle, Cognos reports, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Salary of £29,580 plus a Civil Service Pension contribution of £8,569. Additional benefits include:
