Overview
Consultant Gastroenterologist role at Pacomarine Limited. The post is based at Peterborough City Hospital with responsibilities to develop and deliver Gastroenterology and Endoscopy services, both inpatient and outpatient, in collaboration with the clinical team.
Responsibilities
* Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in charge, including administrative duties associated with patient care.
* Lead, develop and organise the services in his/her charge in line with the Trust's business plans.
* Liaise with the Clinical Lead, Divisional Director and Divisional Operations Manager for the Clinical Business Unit.
* Professional management of doctors in training and participation in department management.
* Provide Gastroenterology and Endoscopy services for inpatients at Peterborough City Hospital and outpatients at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust sites as required.
* Collaborate with Specialist Nurses; participate in on-call Emergency Bleed rota and out-of-hours ward rota.
* Support teaching, audit, governance, and quality improvement activities; contribute to undergraduate and post-graduate teaching and research within the trust.

* Salary: £109,725 to £145,478 per annum

Qualifications
* MB ChB/MBBS or equivalent MRCP
* CCT in Gastroenterology (or equivalent or within 6 months of receipt of CCT at time of interview) or on the Specialist Register
Experience
* Clinical training and experience equivalent to UK CCT Gastroenterology with General Internal Medicine and Hepatology sub-speciality accreditation.
* Ability to offer expert clinical opinions in Gastroenterology; capable of taking full independent responsibility for patient care.
* Experience in organising high-quality outpatient Gastroenterology services; ability to apply research outcomes to clinical problems.
* JAG Accredited Endoscopist; track record in clinical governance, audit, and teaching.
Skills
* Diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic capabilities for portal hypertensive conditions.
* Strong communication with colleagues, patients, families and GPs; ability to apply research to practice; evidenced research experience.
Other
* Full GMC registration and license to practice
* Commitment to honesty, integrity and working across North West Anglia NHS Trust sites
* Desirable: membership of Medical Defence Organisation; additional management and teaching training
