An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to lead accounting operations across the UK and Africa region within a complex, international environment.
This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial information, maintaining robust financial controls, and meeting all statutory and corporate reporting requirements. The position also carries people leadership responsibility and provides deputy cover to senior finance leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage Shared Services Centre (SSC) teams covering Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Payroll, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance
* Produce monthly financial accounts through to Trial Balance, maintaining a clear and auditable trail
* Oversee PAYE and pension submissions, ensuring timely and accurate filings
* Manage VAT submissions and payments in line with statutory requirements
* Support statutory, internal, and SOX audits, including preparation of documentation
* Complete required Office for National Statistics (ONS) reporting
* Manage cash flow forecasting and reporting
* Prepare and review Blackline account reconciliations
* Support preparation of flash reports and forecasts for internal stakeholders
* Review and post inventory costing updates
* Prepare and/or review monthly management accounts
* Maintain UK bank accounts, including management of authorised signatories
* Ensure full compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures
* Manage finance deliverables against corporate and local deadlines
* Provide finance support to other G&A functions as required
* Act as Deputy to the UK & Africa Controller during periods of absence
Qualifications & Experience:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / ICAS or equivalent)
* Around 5 years’ post-qualification experience preferred
* Experience within a multi-entity or international environment desirable
