About the roleIn this varied position, you will support the smooth running of the finance function, ensuring accurate processing of financial information and assisting with day-to-day transactional duties. The role is offered across a 4-day working week, with 2 days based in the office and the remainder working remotely.Responsibilities will include processing purchase invoices and ensuring correct approvals, preparing and processing payment runs, raising sales invoices and reconciling customer accounts, posting and allocating receipts, supporting regular bank reconciliations, and investigating any discrepancies. You will assist with the preparation of monthly financial information, respond to internal and external queries, and support the wider team with general finance administration. In addition, you will contribute to improving systems and processes within the finance function where appropriate.
What you need to succeedYou will have prior experience in a transactional finance or accounts assistant role, with a strong understanding of purchase and sales ledger processes. You may be studying AAT or have equivalent practical experience.Strong Excel skills and a high level of attention to detail are essential, alongside the ability to manage your workload effectively. You will be a confidentmunicator, able to build relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders, andfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks or similar would be advantageous, as would previous exposure to a charity or not-for-profit environment.
