Lecturer in ESOL (Pre-Entry)

Salary: £33,202 to £42,266 per annum (based on 37 hours a week)
Location: Wakefield College
We have an exciting opportunity for a teacher to join our supportive and experienced ESOL team, with a specific focus on teaching Pre-Entry ESOL.
As part of the ESOL team, you will play a vital role in supporting learners at the very start of their learning journey, helping them to develop basic communication, literacy, confidence and independence so they can begin to participate in everyday life and learning in the UK. You will encounter a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures and have a real opportunity to make a difference to people’s lives.
As a Lecturer in ESOL, you should have:
1. BA Hons Degree, HND or equivalent in a relevant subject area
2. Level 5 ESOL subject specialism
3. GCSE A* - C/9-4 in Maths and English qualifications or equivalent as a minimum
4. Have experience of teaching ESOL Skills for Life
5. PGCE or equivalent ESOL teaching qualification
You should also be able to demonstrate:
6. An up-to-date knowledge of the ESOL curriculum
7. Knowledge of the principles of teaching, learning and assessment
8. The ability to communicate to a diverse range of people at all levels, verbally and in writing
