The Person & the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Financial Administrator / Paraplanner to join our growing firm in central Glasgow.
What You'll Do: As a Financial Administrator / Paraplanner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office and providing essential support to our client-facing advisers. Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing comprehensive administrative support, including managing incoming calls and emails with professionalism, performing accurate data entry, and assisting with clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, and scanning documents.
* Preparing high-quality suitability reports covering a wide range of advice types, financial products, and investment solutions, often for high net worth families.
* Conducting thorough technical research to support financial recommendations and maintaining accurate, up-to-date client records, ensuring sufficient Know Your Client & Anti-Money Laundering information is present.
* Supporting the new business process and client service delivery, handling client and provider communications via phone, email, and digital platforms.
* Ensuring all business is compliant with industry and legislative requirements, FCA guidelines, and internal procedures.
* Prepare Annual Suitability Reviews for clients. Assisting with the preparation of client presentations and supporting documentation, and organising meetings, including scheduling appointments and preparing materials.
* Maintaining office supplies inventory and placing orders as necessary.
* Collaborating effectively with Financial Planners and the technical team to deliver exceptional client experiences and achieve positive outcomes.
* Staying abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices in financial planning.
What We're Looking For: The ideal candidate will be a positive, friendly, service-orientated person with a "can do" attitude, who is client-focused, detail-oriented, proactive and highly organised.
* Proven experience in financial services administration and/or paraplanning, ideally within an IFA or wealth management environment (at least 1-2 years preferred).
* A Level 4 qualification (e.g., CII Diploma in Financial Planning/Regulated Financial Planning) or working towards this would be an advantage.
* Strong communication skills – both written and verbal – with excellent attention to detail and the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
* Proficiency in MS Office suite and other office software applications.
* Experience using Intelligent Office back office system is an advantage.
* Familiarity with investment platforms (e.g. 7IM, Transact), FE Analytics, and CashCalc is beneficial but not essential as training on these can be given.
* Excellent organisational and prioritising skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload and handle confidential information with discretion.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a dynamic team in a busy, professional environment.
The Benefits
This is an outstanding opportunity with a successful and expanding firm. Salary: up to £33,000 dependant on experience, plus additional benefits. Support with ongoing development and funding for further qualifications if required.
