We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Nursery Room Leader to join their purpose-built, modern nursery in Waterlooville. This role is ideal for an experienced early years professional looking to lead a team and make a real difference in children’s development.

As a Nursery Room Leader, you will create engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences, lead a room team, and support staff in delivering high-quality care. You will oversee the implementation of the key person approach, maintain accurate developmental records using EyLog and EyMan, and ensure full compliance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. You will also foster a nurturing, inclusive environment for children, parents, and colleagues.
* Employment Type: Full-time
* Working Hours: 41.25 hours per week
* Schedule: Monday to Friday, all year round
* Work is within nursery operating hours.
Key Qualifications
Education & Experience
* Level 3 Childcare Qualification – Essential
* 1+ year experience in Early Years – Essential
* 6+ months in a senior position – Desirable
* Sound knowledge of EYFS and Ofsted standards
Core Skills
* Ability to provide stimulating and purposeful learning experiences for children.
* Leadership skills to mentor and support nursery practitioners.
* Excellent understanding of child development and early years pedagogy.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with parents and staff.
* Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Additional Requirements
* Implement and support the key person approach.
* Maintain accurate records and reports on EyLog and EyMan systems.
