Purpose of Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Security Manager to lead the delivery of security services across two key Welsh Government offices in Aberystwyth and Llandudno Junction
Job Description
You will be responsible for ensuring a high-quality, compliant, and customer-focused security operation, building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, and leading a professional team of Supervisors and Security Officers. This is a highly visible role within a busy public-sector environment, requiring exceptional communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
Responsibilities
•Lead the day-to-day Security Service across both sites, ensuring a consistent, high-standard delivery.
•Maintain compliance with SIA requirements and BS standards, ensuring all officers hold valid SIA licences.
•Oversee recruitment, vetting (including BS7858), induction, and training for security personnel.
•Provide strong leadership to Security Supervisors and Officers, offering support, guidance, and operational direction.
•Ensure all incidents are accurately reported and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
•Attend meetings, manage VIP/specialist events, and act as the key point of security expertise on site.
•Travel to additional sites across Mid and North Wales for inspections or operational needs.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
•Valid Front Line SIA Licence (Security Guarding or equivalent) – essential.
•Level 4 qualification or associated management qualifications – desirable.
•Experience in Security Management or a senior supervisory role within a security environment.
•Strong understanding of physical security operations, incident management, and risk mitigation.
•Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to build strong professional relationships.
•Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional nights or weekends for inspections, inductions, or urgent requirements.
