This hugely successful logistics group have a need for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join them on a permanent basis.
Your new role
Managing and controlling the Group’s accounts payable department with the responsibility for the efficient operation of processes contained within both the core accounts payable and the interface with the business-wide procurement system.
Reporting to the Head of Transactional Finance, the primary duties and responsibilities of the role will include:
Ensuring the accounts payable is operated accurately, efficiently and to agreed timescales.
1. Overseeing of accounts payable processes from input to payment
2. Monitor and maintain reporting to ensure accounts payable processes are being adhered to
3. Monthly review of GRNI
4. Performing month-end duties, reconciliations of intepany trading and other ad hoc reporting requirements
5. Review of delegation of authority
6. Fully understand the procurement/purchase procedure.
7. Implementing changes as required to improve the service provided by the accounts payable team to the business
8. Review and monitor unmatched cash payments
9. Review, monitor and report on accounts payable and procurement KPI
10. Liaise with Procurement and other departments, build good relationships and improve the purchase to pay process
11. Training new and existing staff members on best practice to adhere to business standards
12. Checking of payment runs
What you'll need to succeed
Strong IT skills including using spreadsheets
Proven track record within a mainstream accounts payable function
Proven ability to supervise and motivate staff, with at least 3 years’ experience in a similar Accounts Payable Manager role
Ability to liaise confidently with all other departments
A well organised team player
Strongmunication skills
Positive attitude to problem solving as well as forward thinking
