Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Care Worker to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those with Alzheimer's and dementia, through personalised care and companionship.
Duties
* Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Support clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety during movement.
* Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
* Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being.
* Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health status to the appropriate personnel.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
* Assist with behaviour management strategies for clients with specific needs.
* Perform light housekeeping duties as necessary to maintain a clean living environment.
* Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
Requirements
* Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar caregiving roles is preferred.
* Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care practices is highly desirable.
* Certification in first aid and CPR is an advantage.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
* Physical capability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility needs.
* A valid driving licence is required for transporting clients as needed.
* A caring attitude towards individuals requiring support and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Key Qualities
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a healthcare role as a Care Worker (or in similar roles)
* Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills (ability to communicate with tact, discretion and sensitivity)
* Self motivated and committed to the provision of high quality care

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £12.21-£19.82 per hour
