Concrete Plant Supervisor (JR10002582) Coventry, England
Salary: GBP0 - GBP31000 per annum
Purpose of the role
Main duties include using computer-based systems for batching and dispatch of concrete, communicating with customers face-to-face and on the phone, carrying out routine maintenance, supervising contractors and hauliers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the site in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act and Environmental Legislation.
Other key responsibilities include ensuring that the concrete produced complies with our quality scheme and maintaining site housekeeping standards.
Key accountability
Coordinate with the Order Office to ensure that concrete/mortar production meets customer requirements, delivering optimal output, quality, and standards following the Procedures Manual, Working Instructions, and Technical Instructions.
Regularly inspect and perform routine maintenance on plant equipment, ensuring cleanliness of the plant, area, buildings, and equipment in accordance with instructions.
Manage waste disposal, water discharges, and dust emissions in line with Environmental Procedures.
Ensure sufficient materials are available for production demands.
Inspect incoming materials and conduct weekly visual stock checks.
Ensure all employees, contractors, and visitors adhere to safety instructions.
Review work methods and plant utilization to optimize use of resources.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Operate the batching plant effectively to meet company standards and improve site presentation.
Batch concrete/mortar accurately following procedures.
Maintain adequate stock of approved materials at all times.
Visually check stocks weekly and verify monthly.
Perform routine inspections for defects, recording actions taken.
Report any defects, incidents, or issues affecting health & safety, environment, product quality, or service.
Ensure compliance with policies on health & safety, environment, quality control, fraud prevention, and the Competition Act (RTP).
Keep the site, plant, and buildings clean, tidy, and safe.
Maintain security of the site and assets.
Seek advice from the Operations Manager on matters beyond the supervisor’s authority.
Perform additional duties as needed.
Handle customer inquiries and orders courteously, upholding the company's image.
