Catch22's Victim Service provide emotional and practical support for victims and witnesses of crime and anti-social behaviour, alongside crime prevention advice. Last year, we supported 32,500 victims across the UK, achieving improved health and wellbeing outcomes for 99% of our service users.
Job Description
As a Victim Care Coordinator, you will be providing support to victims of crime across Greater Manchester and manage a caseload of referrals made by Greater Manchester Police. You'll be the primary point of contact throughout the victim’s journey, providing initial contact and assessment of the individual's needs, and tailoring support plans to meet these needs. This may include emotional or practical support from you directly, or signposting and advocacy on behalf of external partners.
In addition to managing a caseload of service users with varying needs, you'll also be the team's lead in a specialist area. As lead, you'll make sure our services and interventions relating to that specialism remain current, building relationships and expertise in this area and ensuring that Catch22 is positioned as a sector leader.
Main duties
* Provide effective interventions to support those in need whether be over the phone or in-person
* Report caseload to leadership and ensure data is collected and recorded accurately
* Perform other administrative duties
* Represent Catch22 and engage with partnerships through attendance at engagement events, local community centres, and liaising with other organisations to ensure the best emotional support for victims
* Become the lead specialist in one of the following areas:
o Domestic Abuse
o Sexual Violence
o FGM
o Children and Young People
o Gangs and Knife Crime
o Modern Day Slavery
o Hate Crimes
o Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
o Fraud
o Radicalisation
Qualifications
We are seeking someone with:
* Experience working with or supporting vulnerable people, through paid, voluntary, or personal experience
* Knowledge of safeguarding
* A basic education level – strong verbal and written communication skills essential for casework documentation
* Good IT skills for daily use of various systems for administrative and reporting tasks
* Non-judgmental and non-discriminatory attitude, able to work effectively with a diverse range of victims and skilled workers
* Excellent communication skills, active listening, understanding service user needs, and problem-solving abilities
* Resilience and commitment to achieving positive outcomes for service users

Successful applicants will need a full UK Driving License and access to a personal vehicle. The role requires UK residence for the past 3 years for vetting purposes.
Contract: Permanent
Hours & Work Pattern: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week
Salary: £25,585
Location: 1-2 days/week in GMP HQ, Newton Heath; remaining time remote and in the community.

Shift Patterns: Variable hours on a rota, including one Saturday and one Sunday on-call every 4 weeks, with start/end times between 0800-1800, 7.5-hour days.
