Exploring Tourism, Hospitality and Events
Learn essentialskills and qualities including communication, problem-solving, presentation andwritten work, along with how to work confidently within a team or individually.Over the course you will gain experience in practical and academic study whichwill involve demonstrations, written work, practical activities, group work andpresentations. You will gain experience through industry guest speakers,trips/visits and events that will enhance your CV and give you the necessarytools to progress into this exciting industry or onto further study.

Entry Requirements
Three GCSEs at Grade4 or above including English and Mathematics or a relevant Level 1qualification.

* An introduction to the Travel and Tourism Industry
* Hospitality
* Work Experience
* Airports and Airlines
* Specialist Tourism (please note that these are subject to change)
Assessment
Assessments will take place in a number of ways with and will be either assessed through course work or practicals. Written coursework is assessed through reports, essays, Information posters -leaflets - brochures, training guides, presentations, storyboards, blogs, maps, industry related documentation. The practical assessments take place on a level 2 qualifications are demonstrations, presentations, role plays, meetings, interviews, blogs, work experience - all to be completed in front of an audience, peers, tutors. Taking part in college events can also be used for assessment purposes to ensure you demonstrate the correct skills, knowledge and behaviours required for the industry.
You could choose toprogress onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma or a Themis Apprenticeship.
Equipment Needed
Travel based uniform, which includes a white shirt and black trousers or skirt, and smart shoes. It is recommended that learners have access to digital equipment, however this is not essential for the course
Equipment Supplied
The Travel Training Suite offers a variety of equipment and resources available for lessons, assessments and demonstrations. Please note that uniform is required when participating in role plays and assessments.
You will be invitedon a range of trips and visits as part of the study programme as well asworking towards volunteering awards and further qualifications relevant to theindustry. You will take part in invaluable work experience to progress intoindustry successfully or onto Level 3 study.
