We require a ward clerk to join our team to provide a full administrative and clerical service to clinical and nursing staff within Ward 31, supporting the provision of direct patient care and treatment.
Essential Skills and Experience
1. Up-to-date computer, keyboard, and typing skills, with a working knowledge of Microsoft packages. Computer work includes Trackcare, emails, and stock ordering.
2. Previous clerical/administration experience is desirable; hospital setting experience is advantageous.
3. Ability to lift and handle casenote folders, and bend and stretch to retrieve file notes and load/unload case note trolleys.
4. Ability to work as part of a team and independently, with good organisational skills and workload prioritisation.
5. Excellent communication skills, with a calm, approachable, and professional manner, especially when dealing with patients, relatives, and staff.
6. Responsible and efficient telephone skills, with effective listening skills to relay information accurately to Nurse-in-Charge, team leaders, and clinical staff.
7. Confidence to manage daily workload in a busy, challenging ward environment.
