INTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT ONLY About the role Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Head of Program Assurance works collaboratively across Council to support the implementation of the the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) framework, supporting the delivery of key projects and ensuring robust governance and compliance with grant management processes. As the Head of Program Assurance, you will: Lead the implementation, leadership, and coordination of governance for Council’s Tier 1 projects Chair the Portfolio Governance Group for key projects in accordance with the Project Management Office framework Provide strategic advice and regular reports to the General Manager and Executive Leadership Team Oversee government grants management, ensuring compliance and alignment with Council’s strategic objectives Foster strong stakeholder relationships with State and Federal funding bodies Lead and coach team members, supporting career development and succession planning Ensure adherence to Council’s Code of Conduct, values, and relevant policies Promote a culture of corporate governance and continuous improvement Essential Criteria Tertiary qualifications in Business and/or relevant discipline Strong experience and contemporary knowledge in Project Management Proven ability to provide governance and probity oversight of transformational projects Experience in budget planning and administration Ability to interpret financial reports Desirable Criteria Experience in Local Government, public sector, or large diverse organisations Knowledge of relevant provisions of the Local Government Act Understanding of computer-based applications for design and project management Commencing Salary - A competitive salary will be negotiated commensurate with the skills, qualifications, and experience of the preferred applicant.
