EQUANS are looking for a Supervisor (Hard FM) working on behalf of QEH in Birmingham. This role would be a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:

The role is to assist the estates management team for delivery of Hard FM & Lifecycle Services for the managed mental health contracts across QEHB. This will involve working with, supporting and managing a multi disciplinary team. For the operation, repair, and maintenance of plant and engineering services within a Mental Health environment.

The Supervisor role is considered to be a working supervisor role, as such he/she will be assigned PPM/Corrective and reactive works to complete alongside the team.

Impact:

The role is vital to ensure that the estate is maintained to a high compliant standard and that all statutory requirements are fully complied with and documented for all services and facilities under the control of the contract.

Complexity:

Work in collaboration with the management team, to provide an efficient and cohesive service across the Estate for all services.

Manage the day-to-day performance of the team for Planned, Corrective and Reactive maintenance tasks

Managing and directing staff in a safe and efficient manner

Deliver training to staff on relevant subjects as appropriate so experience is gained (e.g. toolbox talks & trade specific subject matter).

Manage leave and sickness within the team effectively, ensuring the rota is covered as necessary.

Assist the estates management team with annual leave requests and general personnel issues.

Directly accountable for day to day matters to the estates management team.

Deputise for the estates management team as and when requested and instructed.

Assist the estates management team with the purchasing of spares and services as instructed.

Assist with the completion of regular stocktakes for submission when required.

Ensuring that all staff and subcontractors Response and Rectification times are met, and repairs are undertaken diligently, with due care, without undue delay and within SLAs.

Carry out inspections and audits of both in house and 3rd party staff to ensure compliance with Contract Requirements, in a timely manner, to the required standard and documented correctly.

Responsible for bringing to the attention of the estates management team; any unsafe working conditions, working practices, unsafe plant or equipment encountered during the execution of duties.

Participate as a member of the Estates Team by achieving Authorised Person (AP) status in disciplines where required and directed by estates management team.

Required to participate in the out of hours on call rota.

Responsible for maintaining comprehensive maintenance and compliance records.

Carrying out inspections of site tools, plant, access equipment and first aid equipment, reporting on findings and manage resolution ensuring safety and compliance.

To actively identify continuing professional development requirements and demonstrate progress towards enhancing knowledge and training related to the role.

Qualifications or Required Experience:

Essential

Trade related qualifications and extensive experience in role

Driving Licence

Previous experience in an entry level management/supervisory role

Desirable

Current/previous appointment to the role of Authorised Person in a relevant discipline

IPAF certification (e.g. MEWPS and harnesses)

Previous experience working in a Mental Health environment

IOSH/NEBOSH

AP competencies in areas such as - Electrical LV/HV, Ventilation, Medical gases, Lifts, Natural gas RP, Decontamination

BOAS accreditation

ACoP L8 Responsible Persons for Legionella

Confined Spaces Authorised Persons
