A leading and well-established organisation based in Norwich is seeking a Tax Accountant to join its in-house tax function. This is a 100% office-based role, working as part of a small, experienced tax team, and offers a clear and structured progression pathway to Tax Manager.
The role will suit a technically strong tax professional looking to develop their career within a stable and commercially focused business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Corporate Tax
1. Preparation and review of corporation tax computations and returns
2. Support the corporation tax provisioning process for statutory accounts
3. Management of tax payments, instalments and compliance deadlines
4. Assistance with capital allowances and other business tax reliefs
Indirect Taxes
5. Preparation and review of VAT returns
6. Support with VAT compliance matters, including partial exemption where applicable
7. Oversight of compliance-related reporting requirements
Advisory & Projects
8. Provide tax input on business and commercial projects
9. Assist with tax planning initiatives and process improvements
10. Support responses to HMRC enquiries and audits
11. Liaise with external advisers and HMRC as required
Team & Development
12. Work collaboratively within a tax team of three
13. Support knowledge sharing and development within the team
14. Develop technical and commercial capability with a view to progressing into a Tax Manager role
Candidate Profile:
Essential
15. Strong UK tax experience from practice and/or in-house
16. Solid knowledge of corporation tax and VAT
17. Able to work autonomously in a fully office-based environment
18. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Desirable
19. ACA or CTA qualified (or equivalent)
20. Experience within a complex or multi-entity organisation
21. Exposure to capital allowances, business tax reliefs or specialist VAT areas
22. Prior in-house tax experience
Salary & Benefits:
23. £45,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience (potentially negotiable)
