An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Teaching Fellow - Simulation. The post will be based in the Medical Education Department at Bedford Hospital and will work alongside the SIM Lead, our UG Clinical Teaching Fellows and our Clinical Skills Tutors.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder is responsible for developing and supporting education and training including simulation of medical students, post graduate residents and other multi-professional staff groups. This means being a first point of contact for these groups of staff for simulation queries to support their development within a structured format. The post-holder will be accountable to and report to the Simulation Lead and the Director of Medical Education.
The successful applicant will be welcome to take locum payment for extra work undertaken in any department and will be paid at the level they are performing at.
1. support will be offered for the completion and submission of at least one piece of education research for publication
2. creation and delivery of teaching resources to support medical training
3. supervision and support of junior doctor led teaching of undergraduates at the Trust
4. developing a wide ranging educational portfolio to lead to Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. Funding is available for a PG Certificate in Medical Education
5. develop teaching material and enhanced learning with the Simulation Suite and Multi Skills Laboratory

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
6. Assist the Simulation Lead in the delivery of SIM training to medical students, foundation, other postgraduate residents and staff groups under the WTE&E EoE multi-professional school
7. Assist in the organisation and delivery of induction, clinical skills and procedural skills to support foundation residents
8. Assist in training the trainers in the Trust.
9. Deal directly with routine enquiries and ensure that messages and/or in-depth requests are notified to the appropriate member of the team.
10. It is expected that the postholder will be flexible, professional and cooperative with the evolving needs of the Education Centre resources.
11. Support will be offered for the completion and submission of at least one piece of educational research for publication

Qualifications

15. Basic Medical Qualification (MBBS/equivalent)
16. Full GMC Registration

18. Completion of foundation years in the uk
