Purpose
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team. This is a field-based role primarily covering maintenance and repairs across our retail shops in the East Midlands, with occasional support at our Derby Bakery. The position includes on-call duties with additional pay.
Responsibilities
* Perform general maintenance, including PPM and emergency repairs.
* Maintain and repair in-store equipment (e.g., ovens, fridges, lighting, plumbing).
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
* Work closely with store teams and contractors to resolve issues efficiently.
* Maintain tools, supplies, and accurate service records.
* Provide excellent internal customer service.
Shifts
Day Shifts - 5 days a week, Monday to Saturday with a day off in the week. On-Call availability required. Salary £36,000 - £40,000 depending on experience.
Experience
* Hands-on experience in maintenance and repairs.
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Flexible with working hours and occasional out-of-hours work.
* Excellent communication and time management skills.
* Experience with PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley), panel wiring, and steam systems.
* Background in food production environments.
Qualifications
* City & Guilds or MVQ/BTEC in Electrical Maintenance/Installation.
* 18th Edition (BS 7671:2022) certification.
Benefits
4 weeks holiday per year, increasing incrementally to 5 weeks holiday (after 5 years continuous service) plus Bank Holidays. Staff discount.
