Payroll Assistant – Location: Hybrid (2 days in our Support Office is based in Handforth or DC in Stafford / 3 days WFH). Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to join our dynamic Payroll Team, supporting over 10,000 colleagues across our Support Office, Stores and Distribution Centre.

Responsibilities
* Processing accurate and timely payroll across multiple payrolls on a four-weekly cycle
* Handling manual calculations, RTI submissions, and statutory entitlements (SSP, sick pay, etc.)
* Managing deductions (AOE, CSA), P45s, new starter checklists, and P11Ds
* Resolving payroll queries with professionalism and care
* Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless service
* Supporting process improvements and generating essential reports
What we’re looking for
* Previous experience in payroll administration within an office environment
* Understanding of current payroll legislation
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Trustworthy and discreet with confidential information (GDPR compliant)
* A positive, can-do attitude and a passion for teamwork
Desirable (but not essential)
* Experience with SAP payroll systems
* CIPP Payroll Technician qualification
